Social media (beta)

Show Instagram, Facebook and TikTok posts you pick on any site, and (beta) import posts as articles or share articles out, with each network's limits.

Last updated 2026-10-08

The feature connects your site to your social accounts in two directions:

  • Import to the site. New posts on your Facebook Page, Instagram or TikTok are copied onto the site as articles.
  • Share from the site. Write the article once on your site, then send it to your Facebook Page, Instagram and TikTok.

Showing posts you pick on your pages is separate from both, and works on every site (next section).

Show chosen posts on your site

This part is not in beta: it works on every site and every plan, with no account connected.

  1. Open the page under Pages and switch on HTML Builder. Switching an existing Article page clears its content, so start a new page or copy the text out first.
  2. Click Add Block, choose the Social category, and pick Instagram posts, TikTok videos, Facebook posts, TikTok profile or YouTube video.
  3. Click the new card and open its Content tab. Paste each post’s address between the quotes of url=""; for TikTok profile, type the username between the quotes of user="". To show more posts, open the HTML tab, copy one whole slot (the <p> line, the tag line and the </p> line) and paste it after the last slot’s </p>.
  4. Save. A slot you leave empty shows nothing on the public site, and the card’s preview says which slots still need an address.

To copy a post’s address:

  • Instagram: the … menu → Copy link, or the browser’s address bar.
  • Facebook: the post’s Share → Copy link, or the browser’s address bar.
  • TikTok: Share → Copy link, then open that link in a browser and copy the full address with /video/ in it. A short vt.tiktok.com link shows nothing.

What visitors see:

  • Nothing loads from Instagram, Facebook or TikTok before the visitor clicks. Instagram and TikTok posts show a cover that says opening it loads content from that network, which may set cookies; the post or player then opens on the page. On a screen too narrow for the network’s player, the click opens the post in a new tab instead. Facebook posts show as cards that open the post on Facebook, because Facebook’s player does not fit a grid column.
  • Cover pictures. Until you add one, a cover is a plain light-grey box with the text. To add one, put the address of an image from your own media library in thumb="…": your own photo, or a frame of your own video. Never use a screenshot or copy of someone else’s post; picture addresses on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok are ignored anyway. Give each post its own text with label="…" in its tag too, such as what the post shows: otherwise every card and cover reads the same (“View on Facebook”, for example), to screen readers as well.
  • Privacy (PDPA). If your site lists the cookies it uses, add Instagram, Facebook and TikTok as third parties that may set cookies once a visitor opens a post.
  • TikTok profile shows up to 10 of your latest videos in TikTok’s own box. A private account, an account under 18 or one with no age set shows as private there: make the account public and set the age in the TikTok app. The View @yourshop on TikTok link under the box always works.
  • Where it works: any Page built in the HTML Builder, the home page included. To type the tags yourself into Article pages, posts or templates, see Videos and social posts in Template tags.

This feature is in beta

It is switched on for some sites only. If your admin panel has no Tools → Social menu (/admin/tools/social), it has not been turned on for your site yet. During the beta, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok only accept accounts the SeedWebs team has added. If the network’s login page turns your account away, contact the SeedWebs team.

On Tools → Social, each network’s card has two kinds of button:

  • Connect {network} connects the account to import its posts. To share to it later as well, press Enable posting on the account’s card, which asks the network for posting permission.
  • Connect for posting connects the account for sharing only. It imports nothing until you press Also import posts.

To add a second Page, press Connect another account and pick that Page. Each connect adds one account.

Everything runs on the permission of the admin who connected the account. If that admin is removed or their role is lowered, importing pauses and posting to that account turns off. To fix it, another admin connects the same account again: Enable posting on its card brings back both importing and posting, while Connect another account (picking the same account) brings back importing only, with posting off until Enable posting. Resume alone does not fix it.

Importing posts to the site

What comes in, and when

  • Only posts made after you connect are imported automatically.
  • A new post reaches the site within about 45 minutes (about 75 minutes for TikTok). The site checks on a schedule rather than the moment you post.
  • To get it sooner, press Sync now. Each press imports up to 10 posts, and you can press it twice every 2 minutes.
  • For posts from before you connected, use Import older posts. It shows your 25 most recent posts (20 on TikTok), and you can pick up to 20 at a time. Anything older cannot be imported.
  • Only the 25 most recent posts (20 on TikTok) are ever visible. If an account posts more than that before the next check, the oldest of those are not imported.
NetworkImportedNot imported
FacebookText posts, photos, albums, videos, link postsReels. Link and event posts arrive without a picture, and Facebook photos come through at about 720px
InstagramSingle photos, carousels, videos (Reels included)Stories and collab posts
TikTokPublic videosPrivate or friends-only posts. Only the first 150 characters of a caption come through. Photo (slideshow) posts may not import correctly

What the article looks like

  • It is published straight away by default. You can make imports land as drafts in the account’s Settings.
  • It goes into one category (the site’s default if none is set), in the site’s main language, with the original post’s date.
  • The title is the caption’s first line without hashtags or links, up to 80 characters.
  • Hashtags stay in the text; they do not become site tags.
  • The author is the Author linked to the admin who connected. A site with no Author at all cannot import — add one under Authors first.

Photos and video

  • Photos are copied into the site’s media library (a “Social Import” folder), up to 10 per post, and count toward your plan’s storage. If storage is full, the article is still created without the picture, and the account’s card on Tools → Social shows a Warning that storage is full. To free space, move unused files in the media library to the trash, then empty the trash: files in the trash still count toward storage (see the trash in Media library). Plans cannot be bought self-serve yet; contact the SeedWebs team if you need more space. The warning goes away once a later post is imported without running out of space.
  • Video is not copied. On the site it is a link card to the original post, or the network’s own player (chosen in Settings), so it plays from Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. If the original is deleted, the card points at a page that no longer exists. In player mode the card says that opening it loads the video from that network, which may set cookies, and a video with no poster picture shows a plain light-grey cover rather than a black box.
  • The post’s first photo becomes the article’s featured image. If your theme does not show featured images, single-photo imports look like they have no picture.

After a post is imported

  • Editing or deleting the post on the network does not change the article. Once imported, the article belongs to the site.
  • If you delete an imported article, that post is never imported again. If you deleted it by mistake, restore it from the trash.
  • Changing Settings (status, category, video display, hashtag filter) affects posts imported afterwards only. The hashtag filter takes one hashtag. (Show on the site only, below, works differently.)
  • Pause (called Pause import on an account with posting turned on) only holds posts back; it does not skip them. When you press Resume (or Also import posts), posts made while paused are imported too, if they are still among the 25 most recent (20 on TikTok).
  • An article imported from social media cannot be shared back out (see the next section).

Show imported posts as a grid

Your newest imported articles can also appear on a page as a grid of their pictures that keeps itself up to date:

  1. In the HTML Builder, click Add Block → Social → Social feed (offered on beta sites only), or type {{social_feed}} into a page.
  2. To show a follow button under the grid, put your profile’s address between the quotes of follow=""; leave it empty for no button.
  • Only published imported articles show, newest first (posts you pin come first — see Choose what the grid shows below). An article you unpublish, trash or delete leaves the grid, and a new import appears on its own.
  • Each picture opens the post on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok in a new tab; link="article" opens the article on your site instead. The pictures are the copies in your media library, so nothing loads from the network before a click.
  • source="instagram" (or facebook, tiktok) shows one network; limit, columns and aspect set the size and shape. All of them: Your imported posts as a grid in Template tags.
  • It works in page content (HTML Builder or Article, the home page too), page templates, and your theme’s Header and Footer — so one grid can sit at the foot of every page. It does not work inside a post. If the site leaves the beta, or its plan no longer includes social import, the grid shows nothing.

Show posts on the site only, without articles

If you want your latest posts on the site but not as articles, open the account’s Settings on Tools → Social and choose Show on the site only:

  • The account’s newest posts (up to 24) show in the Social feed grid and nowhere else. No articles are created and nothing is added to your media library, so these posts are not in your blog, search or sitemap. A page needs the Social feed block for them to appear.
  • The grid follows the account: a new post appears at the next check (or press Sync now), and a post you delete on the network leaves the grid at the next check. Older posts show too, not only ones made after you connected.
  • The hashtag filter still applies: with one set, only posts carrying it show. Post status, category and video settings are hidden, because nothing is imported.
  • Each picture opens the post on the network in a new tab, even with link="article", since there is no article on your site. The pictures are small copies kept by SeedWebs; they do not count toward your storage.
  • Articles imported before you switched stay on the site, and the grid shows them alongside the new posts, newest first (a post that is both shows once, and so does a post two connected accounts share).
  • A paused account keeps showing the posts it last had. Removing the app’s access on the network, Disconnect, or switching back to Import as blog posts clears them from the grid at once.
  • When you switch back to Import as blog posts, posts made from then on become articles. To turn earlier posts into articles, use Import older posts.

Choose what the grid shows: pin, hide, and which accounts

Once an account is connected, Tools → Social has two tabs: Accounts (the page as before) and Social feed. Everything on Social feed applies to every Social feed block on your site, saves as soon as you change it, and shows on the site within about a minute.

  • Accounts in the Social feed: each connected account has a Show in the Social feed switch. Switch it off and the account’s posts leave every grid — its Show on the site only posts and the articles imported from it. Nothing is deleted: the articles stay on your site and the account keeps being checked, so switching it back on shows its posts again at once. Its card on Accounts then says Not in the Social feed.
  • Posts: the posts your grids can show, in the order they show them. Pin puts a post first in every grid that shows its network — up to 6 pinned posts, the most recently pinned first; unpin one to pin another. Hide keeps a post out of every grid; Show brings it back. Hiding a pinned post unpins it. A pinned post still counts toward a block’s limit.
  • A dimmed post is one no grid shows right now: hidden, from an account that is switched off, or an article while Posts is switched off in Settings → General → Admin Menu.
  • Articles imported before this feature was added cannot always be told apart by account (Facebook articles can: their address names the Page). On a site with two accounts of the same network they keep showing when you switch one of those accounts off — hide them one by one if needed; with one account of that network they follow its switch. An account you disconnect loses its switch with it, so the articles traced to it show again; the older, untraced ones then follow the network’s remaining account.
  • Disconnect, a data deletion request and deleting the site also remove the pin or hide on that account’s Show on the site only posts. Pins and hides on imported articles stay, like the articles.

When importing stops

When importing stops for one of the first three reasons in the table, the site owner gets one email, in Thai and English, naming the account and the reason. It is sent once, when the problem starts, not on every check, and a temporary connection problem in between does not count as a new start. If you press Resume on a paused card, or Reconnect, while the cause is still there, importing stops again and a new email goes out. The Social item under Tools in the sidebar also shows a number for as long as an account needs you (added to any shares that didn’t go out).

What the card showsCommon causeWhat to do
Needs reconnectA password change, a removed Page role, the app removed from your account, or a year passed on TikTokPress Reconnect with the same account. Your settings are kept
Paused, saying the person who connected no longer has accessThe admin who connected was removed or lost their roleHave another admin press Enable posting on that card, or Connect another account and pick the same account. Resume alone does not fix it
No authorThe site has no Author yetAdd an author, then press Sync now
Warning that storage is full (no email)The site’s storage is full, so new posts arrived without some picturesMove unused files in the media library to the trash, then empty the trash (files in the trash still count). Importing carries on meanwhile

Disconnect removes the connection from SeedWebs; articles already imported stay. Facebook and Instagram keep listing the SeedWebs app in your account’s app settings until you remove it there.

Sharing articles to social media

Where to share from

The post editor has a Share to social box. Tick the accounts you want, then either:

  • press Publish on a new post or a draft, and it is shared as it is published, or
  • press Share now on a post that is already published.

Before it goes, Edit captions lets you check or change the text for each account. Afterwards, the Shares list under the box shows the status — for example Waiting to send → Processing → Posted.

An account connected for importing cannot be shared to yet. If you see “Connected for import only. Turn on posting in Tools → Social.”, press Enable posting on Tools → Social first.

What can be shared

  • Only Posts that are published. Pages, products and events cannot be shared.
  • What goes out is the featured image and a caption. Other images in the content, albums, carousels and video are not sent.
  • The featured image must be in this site’s media library.
  • An article imported from social media cannot be shared. A copy of it made with Duplicate, or a translation of it, can: it counts as your own new post. A copy made before this changed (October 2026) still counts as imported, and its share box still says it was imported: press Duplicate on that copy, publish and share the new copy, and move the old one to the trash. A duplicated translation is no longer linked to the original as its translation.
  • A post can be shared to the same account once at a time. To share it again, remove the earlier one first (on Facebook with Remove from Facebook in SeedWebs; on Instagram or TikTok, delete it in the app, then press I deleted it in the app).
  • Each account takes up to 10 shares a day.

Worth knowing:

  • Facebook does not get link-card posts with a preview image yet. It gets a photo with a caption that carries the article link, or text only.
  • Facebook: if the person who connected cannot create posts on the Page, you see “Your role on this Facebook Page can’t create posts.” Ask a Page admin for a role that can, then press Enable posting again.
  • Instagram: if the account already forwards its posts to Facebook automatically, ticking both Facebook and Instagram can put the post on the Page twice.
  • Instagram also caps how many posts an account can publish through apps each day. When that is reached, the share says the account has hit its daily limit — share again tomorrow.
  • A post written in a language other than Thai gets the English caption template. You can edit the text before it goes.

Sharing to TikTok, step by step

  1. Tick the TikTok account in Share to social. Its card opens.
  2. Check the title, the description and the AI switch, then press Done. Nothing is sent to TikTok until you do.
  3. Press Share now or Publish. The share shows Sending to TikTok, then In your TikTok inbox within a few minutes.
  4. Open the TikTok app (version 31.8 or later), tap the draft notification and finish the post. Privacy, comments and music are set there.
  5. Once posted, the share in SeedWebs changes to Posted on its own — within about 45 minutes if you post within a day of sending the draft, and up to about 6 hours after that.

TikTok’s limits:

  • At most 5 drafts can wait in the inbox in 24 hours, including drafts sent by other apps. When that is full, post the waiting drafts, or wait until 24 hours have passed since the oldest one.
  • A draft not posted within 7 days shows as failed and you get an email. If it is still in the app you can still post it there, but the share in SeedWebs may keep showing as failed. Before sharing again, check in the TikTok app whether it was posted, so it does not go out twice.
  • If you delete the draft in the app, press I deleted the draft in the Shares list.
  • The View post link appears only once the post is public. A post set to private shows as Posted with no link.

After sharing

  • A share sends the text as it is at that moment. Editing the article later does not change the social post, and moving the article to the trash does not delete the social post (except that, for Facebook, the confirmation offers to remove it from Facebook too).
  • A scheduled share can go out up to about 15 minutes after the chosen time.
  • Nothing is retried automatically. If a share fails, you see the reason in the Shares list, a badge on Tools → Social, and an email to the admin who shared. Fix what the reason says and share again.
  • If the reason says the problem is on the SeedWebs side (for example, the featured image could not be prepared), nothing was sent and there is nothing to fix in your post or image. Share again in a few minutes, and contact the SeedWebs team if it keeps happening.
  • If the reason says “SeedWebs couldn’t confirm whether … published this”, the network did not answer when the post was sent, so it may or may not be up. Check the Page or account before sharing again, so it does not go out twice.
  • Posts shared from the site are never imported back onto the site.

What is not possible yet

  • Connecting a personal Facebook profile or a Facebook Group
  • Importing Facebook Reels, Instagram Stories, or TikTok posts that are not public
  • Importing anything older than the 25 most recent posts (20 on TikTok)
  • Updating or deleting the article when the social post is edited or deleted (with Show on the site only, a deleted post does leave the grid)
  • Different pins or hidden posts for different Social feed blocks (pins and hides apply to every block on the site)
  • Sharing several photos, video, Stories or Reels
  • Sharing pages, products or events
  • Link-card posts on Facebook
  • Posting to TikTok without finishing it in the app, or scheduling a TikTok post from SeedWebs
  • Editing or deleting Instagram or TikTok posts from SeedWebs
  • Connecting LINE OA, X, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube or Google Business Profile accounts (a YouTube video can still be shown on a page with {{youtube}}; see Template tags)
  • An automatically updated feed of the latest posts on an account you have not connected, or on a site outside the beta: pick posts with the Social blocks, or show a TikTok account’s latest videos with TikTok profile
